What is FASTag and do I need it?
FASTag is an RFID-based electronic toll collection system mandatory on national highways. Vehicles without FASTag are charged double the toll. The FASTag rate is the same as the standard rate — there is no extra charge for FASTag users.
Are toll rates the same for all vehicles?
No. Toll rates vary by vehicle class: cars and jeeps pay the least, followed by LCVs, two-axle buses/trucks, and heavy vehicles (3+ axles). Two-wheelers are often exempt or pay a reduced rate on most plazas.
How often are NHAI toll rates revised?
NHAI revises toll rates annually in April, typically by 5–10% in line with the Wholesale Price Index (WPI). Toll rates shown here are approximate and may differ from current rates.
